Industries and businesses are major contributors to global GHG emissions and reporting on these emissions has become a critical tool in gaining an understanding of the impact associated with business practices. Reporting empowers organisations to take control of their carbon footprint through measuring, monitoring and disclosing of their emissions. The quantification of an organisations carbon footprint allows them to gain valuable insight as to their environmental performance. The Department of Environmental Affairs requires any company who performs an activity (above a certain threshold) to report their GHG emissions on an annual basis (end of March). Rayten Environmental can assist your company with GHG emissions reporting, verification and validation as well a carbon tax estimate.
Certain building classes of over 2000m2 in the private sector, and greater than 1000m2 in the public sector, will be required by December 2025 to display an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) at the building’s entrance or face large penalties. Additionally, buildings that meet the required threshold are required to register their building on the online EPC platform by August 2024 or they will also be in breach of the legislation and could encounter major penalties. EPCs provide a visual representation of the buildings’ energy performance on a scale of A (very energy efficient) to G (not energy efficient). Rayten Environmental is fully accredited and ready to assist you in meeting your EPC requirements with registration, calculations and certification.
